Software as a service is the most popular cloud service which is also known as cloud application services. Utilizing the internet, it is managed by a third-party operator who is responsible for all the licenses and updates.
Platform as a service, also referred to as cloud platform services provide a platform to customers for developing, running and managing the applications. It helps them to create custom applications without worrying about the servers and networking which is done by the third-party platform providers.
Software as a service (SaaS) differs from the traditional model because the software (application) is already installed and configured. You can simply provision the server for an instance in cloud, and in a couple hours, you'll have the application ready for use.
SaaS can provide beneficial cost savings since it usually resides in a shared or multi-tenant environment, where the hardware and software license costs are low compared with the traditional model.
Many PaaS providers give you developmental options for multiple platforms such as computers, tablets, mobile devices, and browsers. As a result, cross-platform apps are quicker and easier to build.
Unlike traditional methods of building applications, PaaS allows developers to build applications without having to deal with building, configuring, and updating servers.
